LessonChime Test Downloads & Setup
Thank you for helping us test LessonChime. Please choose the version for your computer below and follow the setup instructions carefully.
We recommend reading the user manual before your first test.
These are test versions of LessonChime and may contain bugs. Windows or macOS may also display a security warning because the test application may not yet be recognised by your computer.
🪟 Windows
Use this version if you are running LessonChime on a Windows computer.
Download Windows Test App Windows User Manual1. Install LessonChime
- Click Download Windows Test App.
- Wait for the download to complete.
- Open your Downloads folder.
- Double-click the LessonChime installer.
- Follow the instructions shown on screen.
- Once installed, open LessonChime.
Windows may display a message saying "Windows protected your PC".
If you downloaded LessonChime directly from this official test page, click More info and then Run anyway.
2. Calendar Setup & Sync
LessonChime uses your lesson calendar so that it knows when your next lesson is due to start.
If you already use Google Calendar, you can use your shareable calendar link with LessonChime.
- Open Google Calendar in your browser.
- Find the calendar containing your teaching schedule.
- Click the three dots next to the calendar name.
- Select Settings and sharing.
- Scroll down to the calendar sharing or integration section.
- Copy the appropriate calendar link provided for your calendar.
- Open LessonChime.
- Go to the Calendar or Settings section.
- Paste your calendar link into the calendar field.
- Save your settings.
- Check that your upcoming lessons appear correctly.
If your lessons are stored in Outlook, ensure your teaching calendar is synchronised with the Google Calendar you intend to use with LessonChime.
3. Check Your Schedule
Before teaching, confirm that LessonChime is showing the correct lesson times.
- Check today's lessons.
- Check the start times.
- Check your computer time and time zone.
- Make sure LessonChime is running while you teach.
4. Test the Alerts
Please check that:
- Lesson alerts appear correctly.
- Notification sounds can be heard.
- Pop-up windows appear correctly.
- The correct lesson time is displayed.
- LessonChime continues working while other programs are open.

Use this version if you are running LessonChime on an Apple Mac.
Download macOS Test App macOS User Manual1. Install LessonChime
- Click Download macOS Test App.
- Wait for the download to complete.
- Open your Downloads folder.
- Open the LessonChime download.
- If required, drag LessonChime into your Applications folder.
- Open LessonChime from Applications.
Because this is a test version, your Mac may prevent LessonChime from opening the first time.
Open:
System Settings → Privacy & Security
Find the LessonChime security message and select Open Anyway.
2. Calendar Setup & Sync
LessonChime needs access to your teaching schedule so it can alert you before lessons begin.
Using Google Calendar
- Open Google Calendar.
- Find your teaching calendar.
- Click the three dots next to the calendar name.
- Select Settings and sharing.
- Find the calendar sharing or integration section.
- Copy the appropriate calendar link.
- Open LessonChime.
- Open the Calendar or Settings section.
- Paste your calendar link.
- Save your settings.
Using Apple Calendar
If your teaching schedule is already visible in Apple Calendar, first make sure all of your lesson calendars are syncing correctly.
- Open Apple Calendar.
- Check that your teaching calendar is visible.
- Confirm that today's lessons appear at the correct times.
- If you use Google Calendar, ensure your Google account is connected to your Mac.
- Open System Settings.
- Go to Internet Accounts.
- Select or add your Google account.
- Ensure Calendars is enabled.
- Return to Apple Calendar and confirm your lessons appear.
Always check that your lesson times in LessonChime match the times shown in your teaching calendar before starting work.
3. Check Your Schedule
- Check today's lessons.
- Confirm your lesson start times.
- Check your Mac's time zone.
- Make sure LessonChime remains running while teaching.
4. Test the Alerts
Please check that:
- The lesson alerts appear at the correct times.
- The alert sounds can be heard.
- The pop-up alerts display correctly.
- Your next lesson is correctly identified.
- LessonChime continues working while other apps are open.
